If the screen is dark after downgrading...
Hit the display button.
Turn off the power, then turn it back on.
Remove the battery and AC adapter and let sit, then try again.

If after all that the screen is still black, it's almost certainly a brick.

Installing 3.10 OE-A

First of all, I managed to downgrade to 1.50 so w00t! Thanks to the author and other development guys!

I downloaded the zipped file from Dark Alex's site. However, I found out there were two older folders (oeupdmaker and oeupdmaker%) in addition to the two mentioned 310e_a and 310e_a. From what I can understand from the readme file, I am supposed to create some files unique to my PSP. How do I actually go about doing so? The readme mentioned this simply as 'Installation as usual'. This is my first time...so...what is the 'usual' procedure?

Can anyone give me the precise instructions or link me to a guide (preferably idiot-proof like this one )? That'll be much appreciated.

I would also like to know the following
  1. Once I've installed 3.10 OE-A, can I play downloaded ISOs and PSX games?
  2. Will my PSP brick while installing 3.10 OE-A?

By the way, I am using a TA-082 which was originally in 2.60. I then upraded it to 2.71 before downgrading to 1.50

^ Glad you downgraded using my tutorial. I've written another tutorial on how to update to 3.10 OE firmware... view it here.

ISO's = yes
PSX games = yes (my guide to PSX games here)

2. Very unlikely to brick when installing custom firmware

Exclamation Did I make a brick? Why?

Hello. Thank you very much for directions.

I followed and everything went ok until I ran X.YZ and downgraded 2.71 TA-082 to 1.50
Restarted when I was told to do so, it did power on with black screen.
I tried power on and off a few times but it only power on with black screen.
Did my psp became a brick?
