But still, not everyone's interested in being able to downgrade and play about with homebrew and emulators and the rest. You can't convince a kid to downgrade his PSP so that he can play classic games on his PSP, because for one, those games we see as classic, he will see as old. And two, some of these instructions on how to do some of these things with your PSP are quite complicated. Hell, even adults will find it difficult to understand some of these instructions unless they have some technological know-how.

Some people want to be able to use their PSP to play the games they legitimately buy from a shop, and upgrade their firmware when they need to, and when they're ready to upgrade, the upgrade is here on the site along with the info on how to install it.

For those that do want to do all sorts of stuff with their PSP besides play their games, that information is also here too. We don't tell people not to upgrade if the reason why they want to upgrade is to play the new game they've bought and they're just not interested in all these custom firmwares. Just as we don't tell people not to downgrade if they're worrying about wrecking or damaging their PSP in any way; after all it's not exactly cheap to replace.

We're not encouraging people to upgrade or downgrade. We just try to have the information here to suit all their needs and try and answer any questions they have relating to upgrading or downgrading.

you download the file
put it in PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder
then run the update from the home/XMB menu
