Yep, that's right folks, Dark_AleX, the mighty PSP coding God has done it yet again by releasing a small fix for the OE-a custom firmware. Guess what he added, custom PSX emulation...that's right. Now you can take the games you've backed up from your PSX and convert them straight from iso or img to EBOOT.PBP... The readme is below but since it's a little confusing I'll be adding a few minor things to help you all out.
Ok here is the readme file...
Popstation is a program that will convert your psx games into an eboot.pbp playable in 3.02 OE-B
firmware.
Before starting to read, a note:
European games (pal) give various graphics problems: graphics glitches, and displacement of screen.
It's better to use only ntsc games (american and japanese), whenever possible.
Instructions:
- Get the Hot shots 2 game of the playstation store, and its keys.bin, and put it in the same
directory than popstation, renaming it from EBOOT.PBP to BASE.PBP.
Even if using other ps3store game could work, it is not recommended because the program was
done specifically using this one. USE HOT SHOTS 2 USA.
(Note: this is needed in order to get the data.psp and a few data).
- Backup your PSX CD to a cd image, using some tool for that.
- Put the iso in the same directory than popstation.
- Execute popstation.exe from the command line. You have to pass one parameter, which is the filename
of the iso. e.g:
> popstation castlevania.iso
The program will generate the EBOOT.PBP, it may take some time, depending of the size of the iso.
By default, the program will use the ICON0.PNG, PIC0.PNG and PIC1.PNG from the BASE.PBP. (hot shots)
If you want to use your own pics, place them in the same directory than popstation, and he will
take those.
Note: DO NOT use programs such as pbpunpacker to modify pbp's generated by popstation. They won't
work after that.
Note 2: The program is compiled using cygwin. Therefore, cygwin dll's are required if you don't have them
Google cygwin1.dll to find it.
- Transfer the EBOOT.PBP WITH the KEYS.BIN to the folder you like inside /PSP/GAME and launching it
from 3.02 OE-B XMB.
FAQ:
Q: My game generated is a lot higher in size than the same one from ps3store...
A: They use compression. Because the algorithm of compression is not still reversed, compressed
isos are not supported yet.
Q: I have my game in bin/cue...
A: use the bin as the iso.
Q: I have my game in img/ccd...
A: Use the img as the iso.
Q: The savegames have the icon of Hot Shots 2!!!
A: It's normal. Don't worry.

Here lies the problem that many of you are having...Ok, so you've updated to 3.02 OE-B, you're feeling pretty good, like you're the man right now and all, but you can't seem to get the popstation to work properly. Well first I suggest you download CloneCD from slysoft, pop in your PSX iSO of your choice into your CD ROM drive. Now do the following...
1. Insert the PSX Disc in your Drive.
2. Fire up CloneCD, preferably
4.0.0.0 and up.
3. Click on the "Read to Image File" Button (The one with the glasses icon thing).
4. Now select your burner from the drives listed.
5. You'll now see a couple of profiles. We'll need to create a custom one though. Right click on the white area and select "New".
6. Name your new profile "PlayStation Disc" or "PSX Backup" or whatever, as the name doesn't really affect anything, it just lets you know which one you have to edit.
7. Input the following settings into the profile:
Data Read Settings
Read Speed Data: Max
Read Subchannel Data from Data Tracks: Checked
Regenerate Data Sectors: Checked
Audio Read Settings
Read Speed Audio: Max
Audio Extraction Quality: Medium(Fast)
Read Subchannel Data from Audio Tracks: Checked
Only Read the First Session: Unchecked
Error Handling
Fast Error Skip Settings: Off
Abort on Read Error: Off
Don't Report Read Errors: Off
Intelligent Bad Sector Scanner: Off
After setting all that, click "Next".
8. Now you name your .ccd file. If you want to have a .cue sheet file, check the appropriate box for it.
Once it's done you'll have an .IMG file or something like that...Now take that .IMG file and put it in the following folder in your C: drive so it looks like C:\popstation\nameofiso.img
Other files that should be in the C:\popstation folder are the Hot shots 2 keys.bin, and it's EBOOT.PBP file, but rename it to BASE.PBP...
Now make sure you have the cygwin1.dll file in the popstation folder, if you don't have it download it from google.
Now do the following...
You're popstation folder should be in the following place C:\popstation
Go to Start Bar and then hit the "RUN"
When the box pops up type CMD
On there screen that appears type: cd\popstation
That should generate your EBOOT.PBP file and convert your ISO, it might take a while so be patient
