Dragonball Z Shin Bodukai Review (with video of me playing)

Dragonball Z: Shin Budokai

CLICK HERE for a video of me playing Dragonball Z: Shin Bodukai.

I am Pikkon btw.

Release Notes:

Holy crap there are a lot of Dragon Ball Z games --
typing the name into our search engine returns no less than 44 results.
Granted, some of these releases are multi-platform and so really only
count as one game, but even after you consolidate those you're left with
what is easily one of the largest franchises in gaming's history.
Though it's hit nearly every platform to date, PSP DBZ fans have been
chomping at the bit for a Saiyan fest since the handheld's release. Z
fans may finally rejoice however, for the fight has come to the PSP in
Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai.

Loosely following the story behind the DBZ movie "Rebirth of Fusion"
(or "Fusion Returns!", "Fusion Reborn" or "Resurrection of Fusion",
however you take the translation), Shin Budokai features nearly 20
characters from said adapted storyline and offers both a standard Arcade
mode as well as a fleshed out Dragon Road story aspect. Adding in a Z
Trial mode that pits fighters against certain conditions, like Time Attack
or Survival play, 2-player Network Battle over Ad Hoc and unlockable
goodies in a shop, there's plenty of stuff here for DBZ fans to fight
over.

My Review:

Gameplay: In Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai gameplay features includes a choice of 18 playable characters including prize fighter Pikkon, the ability to perform in-game transformations to more powerful forms, an all-new stage from the Janemba movie, and a total of seven game modes. In single-player mode, players will be able to challenge some of the most evil characters , or select multiplayer and play as the bad guys themselves, becoming the most feared and powerful warriors in the universe. I can describe the gameplay in this game by just saying "awesome". If you have played the console version of the budokai series this is the best out of all of them. The attacks are much easier to do because many power attacks and non-power attacks only need 2-3 button pushes to activate. I must warn you that the enemies of this game are much more difficult to beat.

Graphics: I can tell that the developers but hours into the lighting and special effects of the game. This game has the best graphics, textures, and effects out of all 3 previous bodukai games. This is very good because many times a handheld game is not even as good as a console version but this one is much better. The game is fast paced and quicker than all other game also. People want fast gameplay on a handheld and they deleverd it. This is a positive as now you can fight faster and kill them faster making the game even more intense and fun but like I said they are more difficult to beat.

Overall: In this game players can take on their friends in wireless multiplayer battles in all the most exhilarating aspects of Dragon Ball Z combat. These include counter-attacks, super high-speed bouts, flight and Ki (energy) management, all via an enhanced version of the renowned Saiyan Overdrive Fighting System from DBZ Budokai 1, 2 and 3. I would highly reccommend buying this game. If you loved the previous series you would definatly want to purchase or rent it because it deserves a play. I would give it a 8.5/10.
