HOW TO: Customize your XMB icons

Warning: use of this program could brick your psp. While it is unlikely when used correctly, all modifications to the psp's internal flash carry a small risk. Please use with care, PSPHome takes no responsibility for any damage you cause your psp. It's recommended that you use custom firmware when installing this, but it also works with 1.50 PSPs.

STEP 1
Connect your PSP to USB.

STEP 2
To change your XMB icons you'll firstly need an App for your PSP called PSPset 0.9.
Click here to download PSPset 0.9

STEP 3
Once downloaded, place PSPset and PSPset% folders into:
X:\PSP\GAME150 if you have 3.02 OE/3.03 OE PSP.
X:\PSP\GAME if you have a 1.50 PSP.

(X is the letter of your PSP drive)

STEP 4
Find and download the XMB icons you would like for your PSP from here.

STEP 5
Once downloaded, extract the (.zip) or (.rar) containing the XMB icons. Then find the file called "topmenu_plugin.rco". Copy that to the root of your memory stick.

STEP 6
So now you should have:
X:\topmenu_plugin.rco (X is the letter of your PSP drive)

STEP 7
Disconnect the USB and do the following:
- Turn on your PSP
- Connect your AC Adapter
- Run PSPset 0.9 from GAME -> Memory Stick -> PSPset 0.9

- Select "firmware tweaks"
- Select "flash topmenu_plugin.rco"
- It will flash your PSP with your custom icons

STEP 8
Go back to the XMB and you should have your custom XMB icons!

The standard warning for apps that write to the psp's internal flash:
