I haven't heard this. Sony confirmed a while ago that the PSP is compatible with 4GB and even 8GB Pro Duo memory cards.

Ive never heard of anyone having problems with a 4gb memory stick under 3.03oe-c either.

Ive heard of people having problems with fake cards purchased from ebay(on both official and custom firmwares), but if you have a 4GB genuine sony or sandisk memory stick you should have no problems at all using it with a PSP running 3.03OE-C.

I think 8gb support came in somewhere around 2.81/2.82, I believe the custom firmwares support these also although I could be wrong.

It just told you how to delete files from the memory stick, nothing out of the ordinary.

As in: to free up space, delete any videos, music files, pictures, demos or homebrew games you don't want anymore.
