I spend far more time than I should messing around with different homebrew

Lets see if anyone gets this one, and oldie but a goodie:

Small hint: Those screens were taken on an excellent emulator running on the PSP.

I love how a game for kids from the late 80s had a smoking pig working in the store.

It looks like a Super Mario game of some sort, maybe on Gameboy Color. I only had the Gameboy Pocket and GBA so maybe that's why I haven't come across it before.

Its from a home console not a portable, the system was released about 3 years before the original gameboy.

Although, with an adaptor, there was a portable version of the console (with a different name) that could play this system's games.
That should pretty much give away the system its from.

@Bah: I think that your game is pretty challenging that nobody is longer guessing...

Hehe, its not just a tough one I posted some less than easy to guess with screens (your character changes form throughout the game, and doesnt look like you would expect him to most of the time).

Yes it's from the sega master system, I don't think there was a game gear version so you needed an adapter.

Game gear was a master system in portable form, like the nomad was a portable megadrive/genesis. The nomad took standard megadrive/genesis carts where as the game gear had its own smaller carts and needed an adapter to play master system games.

Here's another couple of image that might be easier to guess, if no one can get it still Ill call it quits

If no one gets it after this clue I'll cry.

The character you play as is both a 'wonder' and boy.
Its also his third game on the master system.

Lucky I didn't post a game from the BBC model B

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa.

I cant go any clearer than the last 'hint'.

I'm guessing no one here ever owned a Master System or played arcade games in the late 80s.
I feel old

Fast reply

Ok, put the 3 main words from my hint together.
Literally.

I wish I still had my 2600, the first one I had was the late model with '256 games' built in.
Had one of the original chunky woodgrain ones for a while too, really wish I'd kept it.
