Wind Adept: PSP Video 9 is a windows application that converts videos to formats the psp can play back (MP4-SP, AVC). It also has a section to easily transfer the videos it creates to your psp.

If you are on firmware 2.81 or above however, videos can now be placed in ..\VIDEO and named whatever you like. Previously they had to be placed in ..\mp_root\100ANV01 (avc videos) or ..\mp_root\100MNV01 (mp4-sp videos) and had to be named in a specific format. PSP Video 9 automatically names and copies the files to the psp in keeping with these restrictions, however everything it does should still playback fine on a psp of any firmware (avc format support was only introduced in fw 2.0, use devhook to emulate a higher firmware and playback these videos if you are lucky enough to be a 1.5 user).

I'm having problems. PSP says Unsupported Data (2.81). The video was converted in PSP Video 9, copied to PSP\MP_ROOT\100MNV01. The name created by Video 9 was MV410010.MP4, and .THM I copied both to PSP\VIDEO but it continues to give the Unsupported Data. Also I don't see a way to change Video 9 to go direct to PSP\VIDEO. Is it possible? Could you post a copy of the Video 9 Setup profile or give help? Thanks

Yeah, copy/paste your profile from C:\Program Files\pspvideo9\profiles.xml or just post a screenshot of your profile settings (setup, profiles tab) and I'll see if anything stands out.

Encoding in AVC will give you better results, but lets get this working first

I dont beleive there is a way to get it to output straight to <psp's drive letter>:\VIDEO as it was last updated prior to firmware 2.81 when that feature came in.

You could also try one of the profiles I've posted HERE (Post 7).
