PSP Video Files - What format

New to this web-site, so apologies if this question has been asked before

I have just got a PSP, and Xoom software to rip DVD's . When i rip DVD's i covert them to .mp4 files. When i copy the .mp4 files to my PSP and go to video on the PSP it says 'no videos'

Am i using the wrong video file format (.mp4), or am i copying the files to the wrong place on my memory stick

Can anyone assist me

Cheers

They must be in a specifically formatted MP4-SP or AVC codec to work.

Resolution: 320x240 or 368x208
Framerate: 29.97 (NTSC)
Audio: 48000 Hz

On a psp with firmware 2.80 or lower:
MP4-SP videos must be placed in <PSP's drive letter>:\MP_ROOT\100MNV01 and named M4V#####.MP4 (the # being any numbers you wish, I believe there must be 5 numbers though)

AVC videos must be placed in <PSP's drive letter>:\MP_ROOT\100ANV01 and named MAQ#####.MP4 (the # being any numbers you wish, I believe there must be 5 numbers though)

If your psp is running firmware 2.81 or above, all videos can be placed in <PSP's drive letter>:\VIDEO and named as you wish.

If your videos still wont work you could try running them through PSPVideo9 using one of the profiles I attached in thread 7 of THIS thread.

On the left hand side of the PSP there is a switch (looks like the power switch on the right hand side).

This turns WIFI on and off, flick it up, try again and you should be good to go.

Turn it off when your not using wireless to save power (or so they say).

This guide is about how to use Nidesoft DVD Ripper to rip your DVD for iPod, Zune, iPhone, PSP, Apple TV, Creative Zen, iRiver, Archos, Pocket PC, Mobile Phone, General MP3 player and so on.
Now let’s get started.

Download Nidesoft DVD Ripper (latest version: V3.0) and install the program on your computer. You could download it from: Nidesoft DVD Ripper, Video Converter, DVD to iPod Converter, DVD to 3GP,PSP,AVI

1.Load the DVD
Click the "Open DVD" button (or select the MENU "Open DVD").You could select the DVD drive to load the DVD movie. The software will analyze the IFO files to get the Movie information. This process will take some time and soon you will see the Movie Structure in the List.

2.Select subtitle, audio track and output format
a) Most DVD movies usually has several subtitles, like English, French, German, etc. You can select according to your requirement.
b) Select “audio track” as the same as select Subtitle.

c) Profile : this software can convert DVD to all popular formats, it also can extract audio track from DVD and save as MP3 and other formats which is compatible with digital audio players. Select format (Profile Setting ) as the same as select Subtitle.

3.Start conversion
If you don’t want to set any detailed settings, you can just select an output format from the profile drop-down list and click the “Convert” button to start the conversion. Then you can just go get a cup of coffee and come back later to check if the conversion is finished.

However, before you start the conversion, you may find the following operations to be very useful:
You could see the "General Setting" on the right of the UI.
With the several sliders you could set
Video Resolution
Video Quality
Audio Quality
Audio Volume
Also, if you do not set them, the software will use the default setting to convert.

Tips:
A Higher bit rate and frame rate provide result in better quality with larger size but larger output file.
May this guide helps, if you have any questions, you can go to this site:
Nidesoft DVD Ripper, Video Converter, DVD to iPod Converter, DVD to 3GP,PSP,AVI
to learn more detail.
