Need Info about PSP

Hi all,
I am planning to buy PSP so i need suggestions and answers from your side, some of the questions that i want to ask are

1-> Does the PSP have such good graphics as PS2 have? When playing PSP does it feels like playing PS2?

2->Second thing i want to ask is what is MOD CHIP?what is its fuctionality?and most importantly how do i get to know that it is present in my PSP?

3->If i have ISOimages of games, can i play them easily on PSP via the stick,ALso let me know maximum space it takes on memory stick after installation..(I am planning to buy 2gig memory stick separately)

4->After upgrading to new firmware, can i return back to previous firmware,i mean to uninstall the new one.
Please reply me so i can make my mind soon about buying a PSP.
Regards

1. A. Graphics vary between ps1 and early ps2 games. However, some games are beginning to compete with the ps2 itself (see ff7: crisis core trailer).

B Plays like the ps2 if you get rid of the second analog stick, rumble etc and half of the shoulder buttons.

2. no idea.

3. A. yes, you can play them if you have firmware 1.5 and have the required loader/ emulator to play it. Recent games are not supported though as they are becoming harder to hack. You dont install the games, you just play them straight off the mem stick.

B. Iso's can vary in size ranging from 150mb to 1gb.

4. No you cant downgrade the firmware. However there have been hacks which allow you to downgrade from frimware 2.0 down 1.5 . Doing so is risky as it can brick the psp. Also, keep im mind that recent games require the latest firmware to play (Firmware is currently at 3.01)

1) I agree with darksora, but the incredibly slow response time and the blur it introduces (more so in some games than others, due to colour scheme) can be annoying. This seems to bother me more than others however.

2) There is currently a modchip for the psp called undiluted platium, its basically some additional memory that is connected internally to the same place as the memory that stores the psp's system memory. It allows you to have multiple versions of firmware (system software) on the psp, and also to downgrade psps with firmare 2.8 or higher back to to earlier versions.

3) I dont support nor encourage pirating psp games. If a game is worth playing then buy it, or developers will stop making games for the console. A UMD stores around 1.5gb.

4)Currently any firmware up to 2.71 can be downgraded via different software hacks. Any firmware, including 3.01 or whatever the latest is, can be downgraded via the modchip. The only issue is if your console is the newer TA-82 version you cannot downgrade below firmware 2.6, and you cannot use the modchip on TA-82s. Downgrading from 2.0 to 1.5 carries as close to 0 risk as I can imagine, the next most stable downgrader is from version 2.71, so you can just update to that then downgrade.

All firmwares, including 3.01 can be emulated on a firmware 1.5 psp with devhook. All umd games are playable through it, right up to the very latest (MSG:Portable Ops works for example).
