ok, erm. What do you mean by installing game from computer. 3.00 prevents any homebrew. If its a UMD which wont start try updating to 3.01.

So basically you've been running ISO's on your version 1.5 PSP, then upgraded to 3.0 and found they no longer work. It's possible that it's because the security in the PSP's firmware has been upgraded so it won't allow people to use ISO's on updated consoles. So unless a hacker can find a way to get past the new security measures, you'll have to buy a few games.

But you've also said you reformated the memory stick? That's wiped all the files you had saved on that memory stick, including game saves, so they won't be there anymore. You'll need to copy them again to your GAME folder in your PSP (connect PSP to PC, put it in USB mode, click and drag the file to the GAME folder in your PSP) and see if they'll still work on your PSP. If not then it's likely because of the problem i mentioned in the paragraph above.

Steph, I understand the concept of what you are saying, but not clear on what ISO means.

I don't know what it actually stands for but they are PSP game files that have been ripped from the disc so that people can play PSP games without buying the UMD's. Basically a form of piracy for PSP games.

International Standards Organization.
In the context of digital storage mediums it refers to a standard method by which the contents of a data disc have been transferred to another medium (computer hdd, memory stick etc) and contained in an archive (multiple files stored within a single file).

If you were able to set up the applications required to pirate games I'm surprised you're having the trouble your having now.

As much as I dislike the constant updates and the way they prevent people running emulators and other homebrew, if all you want to do is run pirated PSP games then it's a good thing you updated.

If you want a game, purchase it. You will have 0 trouble running any legally acquired game UMD on firmware 3.0.
