Question PSP Crashed!!!

I hope someone can give me some advice, my sons psp froze up whilst he was playing pro evo 6. Had to turn psp off as pushing buttons had no effect, now psp will not come on at all (just green power light). I phoned sony customer helpline and was told i would have to pay £65 to replace unit because the software had been affected.
I would like to know if there is any other way to sort out this problem, without forking out £65.PSP was bought at xmas 2005 but well looked after. Thanks.

sorry to say but your psp is bricked....in other words
the operating system is corrup sorry to be the bearer of bad news
you can buy a downgradable psp from ebay though in which you dowgrade the systems software, then upgrade to one of Dark_Alex's software in which you can recover from a semi-brick, like i had to do lst night
correct me if im wrong evolve plz

i have a feeling it's not a brick... a game has nothing to do with the firmware, well nothing that could brick it
was he online or anything?
also, the power from the battery might have been drained
try charging it up and see what happens

btw, what firmware do you have?

Try taking the battery out for 24hours and then try to turn it on again. It may be a hardware malfunction.
