1UP has conducted a preview on Crazy Taxi PSP and it seems as if its just as fan as we all remember! The game plays well, looks well and should further brighten the dull summer months of the gaming industry for just $30.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it, but a little bit of polish never hurt anything. First of all, there will be up to seven new bands, but the choices aren't quite narrowed down yet. If you don't like any of those there will also be the option to stream your own soundtrack off a Memory Stick with the custom music player. The dialogue will also be updated to get rid of any dated or overly-cheesy lines, with some characters (mostly passengers) getting new voiceovers -- one new voice will be the announcer for multiplayer mode. The port team is in contact with the original producers to make sure that their choices, including new game mechanics for multiplayer, are appropriate for the series.
If you played the original Crazy Taxi, it should be easy enough to pick up the PSP version. The controls carry over fine, so you'll be racking up fares in no time. At this point, the game looks pretty much like you would expect, minus the final optimization that will happen in the next couple of months. But the developers say to look for some added visual effects (such as dust under your wheels) in the final version later this year. For a discounted $29.95, it might not be a bad summer buy.
