| There is no region lock on UMD games, umd video discs are locked however.
In order to play the latest games you will need to be running a higher version firmware.
You can either update to the official 3.03 firmware, or look into Dark Alex's 3.03OE-b. This is a custom (unofficial) firmware that provides all the features of 3.03 but also allows you to run unofficial software (homebrew). This ranges from individual games people port over to the psp, to emulators that allow you to run games from other consoles on your psp.
If you update to any official firmware 2.81 or above you will loose all access to homebrew and be limited to official sony features. |
